Multimap, Europe's leading online mapping provider, has teamed up with Intuition Communication, provider of consultancy, internet, intranet and extranet solutions to the healthcare sector, to enable people to find their nearest private healthcare facilities across the UK. Using Multimap's 'Storefinder' service, the nation can now search for private hospitals, cosmetic surgery clinics, cosmetic dentists, travel health clinics, and health screening centres by postcode or place name, and view an interactive map pinpointing their exact locations, on www.privatehealth.co.uk.

To access the mapping service, visitors to www.privatehealth.co.uk first select the private healthcare service in which they're interested. Next, they enter a search by postcode, place name, centre name, or keyword, e.g., 'MRI scan'. The search results display up to ten healthcare facilities matching users' search criteria, within their specified search radius, both on a map and as a text list. The centre's name, its distance from the user's location in miles, and a link to a more detailed map are provided for each item on the list, and users can zoom in/out on the map delivered to adjust their view. A red arrow indicates the exact location of the centres on the maps, and users click on the centre name appearing beside it to access full contact details.
