26 February 2006
Multimap, one of the world's leading online mapping providers, today announced that consumers can now access point-to-point travel directions for Australia and New Zealand free of charge. The service delivers directions as a highlighted route on a map, and as a text list, which visitors can then print up and pocket, saving them time and effort when it comes to journey planning.
Commenting on the service, Chris Warrick, Managing Director of Multimap Australasia, said, "Multimap has comprehensive street-level coverage of unparalleled quality for both Australia and New Zealand, thanks to our partnerships with PSMA and Terralink, these countries' respective pre-eminent data providers. Couple this with Multimap's robust technology platform, and you get a very accurate and reliable travel directions service. We are thrilled to offer such a useful and time-saving service to our consumer site users and business customers, and look forward to rolling out to other countries in the region in the near future."
To access the Travel Directions service, visitors to www.multimap.com.au and www.multimap.co.nz:
- click on the ‘Travel Directions' tab on the homepage;
- enter the addresses of the start and end point of their journey (street, suburb/town, state and/or postcode); and
