Multimap Announces Mobile Services for the Property Sector at PCS Expo 2007

16 October 2007

Multimap, one of the world's leading online mapping and location-based services providers, today announced the availability of two new mobile services, Storefinder4Mobile and Multimap2Mobile, for customers in the property sector, at PCS Expo at London's Business Design Centre. Multimap is exhibiting at the show, which runs from Tuesday, 16th to Wednesday, 17th October, 2007. Visitors to the Multimap stand (no.131) can hear about the benefits that the company's internet mapping services deliver to some of the industry's leading estate agents, including Savills, Foxtons, Hamptons International, Propertyfinder, Bushells and Winkworth, and see demonstrations of the new mobile services, as well as the latest version of Multimap's leading-edge API service.

Matthew Quinlan, Head of Product Marketing at Multimap, will also speak at the Expo, on Tuesday, 16 October, at 2pm; his presentation, "Converting viewers to buyers with online & mobile mapping services", is part of the event's Residential program.

Storefinder4Mobile allows users to find estate agents' properties while they are on the move. They can search for nearby properties by texting a location, or be automatically 'found' by LBS. Multimap sends location details of nearby properties to the user's mobile; users can then request a map. Estate agents can also include a keyword and shortcode on 'To Let' or 'For Sale' signs, e.g., "Text INFO to 81066" and Multimap will send a WAP page with nearby properties on request.

Multimap2Mobile allows house-hunters to send a full-color map from property websites to users' mobile phones. This works as a simple "push" mechanism to replace the printed map, so online surfers can keep a map and property information to hand while they are out and about, helping them make it to viewings on time, without having to call you when they're lost. Estate agents can use also use Multimap2Mobile to send maps and details direct from the office to house-hunters before a viewing.

The Multimap API breaks new ground in bringing together searching, routing, mapping, geocoding, and Points of Interest (POI) data and imagery, such as schools, colleges and shopping centers, into a single one-stop service. The service gives businesses unprecedented capability and control over their location services and comes with Multimap's industry-leading customer support. In addition to introducing major new areas of functionality, the API takes the mapping interface to a new level, adding overview maps, smooth zooming, automatic de-cluttering of icons, and many other features. A full list of the capabilities and features of the Multimap API is available at www.multimap.com, in the Business Services section.

In addition, Multimap's Points of Interest data is particularly popular in the real estate sector. Showing local information, such as transport links, schools, colleges, hospitals, and shopping centers, in a local context is critical to connecting with property-hunters and helping them make an informed decision about whether or not to book a viewing. The Local Information service, up-to-date aerial imagery, mobile services, and innovative and flexible mapping services combine to offer a great shop window for property, online on mobile, and in print.
