Multimap Demonstrates its Leadership in Online Mapping in the Asia Region at the Travel Distribution Summit, Singapore, 2008

18 March 2008

Multimap, one of the world's leading online mapping providers, will be showcasing its recently expanded mapping coverage in Asia, in addition to its other industry leading services at the Travel Distribution Summit, Singapore, on the 18th and 19th March, 2008. Visitors to the Multimap booth (no. 5) can hear how about the benefits the services deliver to leading travel websites, including Agoda, PYO travel, HolidayCity.com and Hotels valued.com.

Multimap's Chinese and Indian mapping is now available on multimap.com and the Multimap API, the one-stop mapping and location service for business. New maps of China are available with a choice of Chinese or Western character labels, a first for the online mapping market. The service offers the ability to switch between different map types for the same region, and allows consumers and businesses to choose their preferred language.

Multimap will also be showcasing Microsoft Virtual Earth, which is now available to Multimap customers directly or as part of the Multimap product suite. Microsoft Virtual Earth provides a highly-immersive online experience, and additional regional coverage including maps of Japan.

Chris Warrick, Managing Director of Multimap Australasia, commented, " Location is key when people are researching a trip, and now with our vast map coverage of Asia we are able to provide more choice to consumers and businesses, in addition to allowing them to custom tailor their map styles for the best user experience - for example when finding the Olympic stadium in Beijing, and printing a Chinese language map for the taxi drive.
